Where are the winter flights to Ibiza?

Im wondering at the moment what has happened to all the supposed new winter flights to Ibiza. Ive been checking around on a few carriers from EasyJet to Ryanair and havnt had much luck to far. Best i have got is Easyjet on the 8^th of sept. Now this is checking from a regional airport such as Belfast but still. For many it will be a case of a connecting flight which i think is far from ideal for many people and it raises the cost quite alot.

Sky Europe closes

1000s of poople were left stranded all across Europe last week as Sky Europe cancelled all of its flights as it filed for bankruptcy. Its hard to know how much warning the company had before it went bust but you have to wonder what their plan was for all of the people stuck in foreign countries. Hopefully everyone will at least get their money back as i think Sky Europe was ATOL protected but im not sure. Its not surprising that so many people are reluctant to go with small airlines these days.

6 Million Euro Investment for Chambery Airport

This news just in the main Chambery Airport has recived a funding boost of up to 6 million euros. It has been a needed investment as the airport is pretty old by most modern standards so this should deffenitly help tourism numbers in the city. Its also hoped it could increase capacity for flights to an extra 35%.

The investment is a mixture of both private and public money which is the way most of these projects are going these days. Work is sheduled to start at the end of 2009 and is expected to take around 8 months to complete.

End to misleading airfares?

Seems like the EU is looking into some of the misleading airfares by several large airlines. Its just been announced this week but it should be good news for everyone apart from a select few budget airlines! As we all know Ryanair will be in the most trouble with so many hidden costs its hard to keep track. They even announced a charge last week for online check in! Which is a bit rich when you have to pay to check in at the airport too, why isnt the price of check in just incorporated into the ticket price?!

Weightless flights gets first wedding

So heres a weird first. Zero G one of the only commercial providers of weightless flights has had its first ever wedding on board a 737! See the pic below as it looks pretty fun. Suppose the probably tested it a bit beforehand as we know half of all people are sick when first experiencing weightlessness.
